Journalists Love Their Morning Joe (Not that One)

There are a few things you can count on in life.

First, a Photographer will be the first to hit on the new interns. And second, you will find a coffee pot somewhere in the newsroom.

A new survey shows that when it comes to drinking coffee, no profession does it more that Journalism.

Out of the 10,000 professionals who were included in a survey conducted by Pressat, 85 per cent said they drink at least three cups of coffee a day, and nearly 70 per cent admitted that their working ability would be affected without a daily mug of coffee.

Media folks top the list when it comes to having a cup of joe, even coming in higher than cops. Although, we're guessing cops still lead the category when it comes to eating donuts.

Here's the top 10 professions when it comes to coffee consumption:

Fox Business Grows in Ratings as CNBC Falls

11 day ago, FTVLive told you how bad the summer has been to CNBC and their ratings.

We told you that August was their lowest rated month in the demos since 1992 and it doesn't appear that September is getting much better.

But, Fox Business seems to finally be picking up some steam. In fact Fox Business Network’s Deirdre Bolton reached an all time high in her ratings last Thursday.

Bolton's show pulled 120,000 total viewers with 30,000 in the demo. The FBN show beat CNBC in the demo by 76%.

Ouch!

The FTVLive Intern gets some Ink

FTVLive appreciates the newspapers, magazines and websites that give FTVLive props for some of the stories we post.

Then there are the sites that swipe stuff from us on a daily basis with no credit what-so-ever. But, that post is for another time.

The FTVLive Intern has been burning up the office printer, printing out a story that he was mentioned in on the International Business Times' website.

The story was about the David Letterman intern lawsuit and the IBT wrote:

But in the end it was Musallam’s name on the complaint, and she told the Post she was surprised to find herself the “lone ranger” named as a plaintiff in the court papers. Following news of the lawsuit, the 26-year-old was harassed on Twitter and in media reports. The always-classy Daily Mail dug up old photos from her MySpace page, posting them presumably without permission. The blog FTVLive.com mocked Musallam in an article bylined (ironically) by an intern. “Whatever happened to getting college credit and some experience to get a job from your internship?” the unnamed blogger wrote.

The FTVLive Intern is sending copies of the quote to all his family and redoing his resume to include his brush with fame.

As for us, we're getting ready to look for a new Intern. The FTVLive World Headquarters doesn't have room for egos....well.....except mine of course.

Former Philly Anchor Getting Jenna Wolfe's Old Job

FIRST on FTVLive!  When WTXF Fox Philly morning Anchor Sheinelle Jones signed off from the station back in March, she said it was to spend more time with her family.

Well, it appears that she has spent all the time with her family that she needs.

FTVLive hears that Jones will be getting Jenna Wolfe's old job at Weekend Today.

Earlier Today, FTVLive told you that Wolfe is becoming the new " lifestyle and fitness correspondent" at NBC News.

NBC is expected to name Wolfe's replacement next week.

Don't be surprised if it's Sheinelle Jones and of course remember where you heard it first.

By the way, don't tell anyone that Jones is going to be named Wolfe's replacement. It's supposed to be a secret...ok? NBC hates it when we scoop them on their own stories and we don't want them to get mad at us.

DC News Director, Managing Editor Kicked to the Curb (Updated)

FIRST on FTVLive! Sources tell FTVLive that WJLA News Director Doug Culver is about to/or already has beeen pinked slipped at the newly acquired Sinclair station.

Culver has been at the DC station about two years, coming from WFTS in Tampa.

FTVLive FIRST told you that Culver's boss, Bill Lord was pushed out when Sinclair took the station from Allbritton.

Now, it appears the trickle down effect has Culver getting whacked as well.

Because you know, hirings happen on Monday and firings go down on Friday.

Stay tuned....

Update: Sources tell FTVLive that WJLA Managing Editor Dan Patrick also caught the blade.

Former Fox News Anchor in the Eye of the Ray Rice Storm

Screen Shot 2014-09-12 at 8.10.35 AM.png

While NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell does all he can to keep his job, one former TV Anchor has a front row seat to the action.

You may not know (or remember) that Goodell is married to former Fox News Anchor Jane Skinner.

Back in June 2010, Skinner announced on the air that she was leaving Fox News to spend more time with her family. It was 2 years after her husband  had taken over top NFL job, after Paul Tagliabue stepped down in 2008.

Skinner has mainly been off the radar since leaving Fox News.

The couple married in 1997 and has twin daughters. Daughters that we're guessing, Goodell will not let ride in an elevator with Ray Rice.

Here's one of FTVLive's favorite Jane Skinner bloopers when she was at Fox News:

NBC Names Jenna Wolfe Fitness Correspondent

NBC has just named Jenna Wolfe their new " lifestyle and fitness correspondent."

The network says that in her new role, Wolfe will cover everything from healthy living and wellness to strength and body improvement, and will continue her wide range of feature pieces for TODAY. As NBC News national correspondent, Jenna will report for all platforms of NBC News including NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.

NBC Nightly will have a new segment called "Butt Crunches with BriWi."

OK...maybe not.

Networks Say They will Stop Airing Ray Rice Elevator Video

After having the video cued up on what appeared to be an endless loop, TV networks are now saying that they are done airing the Ray Rice elevator video.

On Tuesday morning the video aired almost 40 times on the networks in just the 7AM hour alone.

Now, the networks say enough is enough.

"The video has been seen enough for viewers to clearly know what happened, and make their own judgments about what should happen next," said Michael Clemente, executive vice president at Fox News. "Our judgment is that continuing to show it is simply overdoing it for shock value, and not for journalistic reasons."

Because of course the first hundred or so times that they aired it, that was for "journalistic reasons."

Give me a break.
