WAND in Decatur was going live from the Decatur Celebration (whatever that is) when the Reporter got a surprise visitor that said the now famous "FHRITP."
Let's go to the video:
WNYT (Albany) posted a story to their website that Coca-Cola was Recalling 2 Million Bottles of their Coke that had the name 'Michael' on them.
The station reported that a disgruntled employee was spiking sodas with dirt.
It was a juicy story and it also was not true.
The station pulled the story from the Empire News website which posts fake stories under the guise of satire.
Not long after WNYT posted the story on their website, a number of people called them out on social media and the station pulled the story.
While the story is off their site, the egg is still on their faces.
This could be the perfect fit.....
The rumors are still going strong that David Gregory is going to get the hook from NBC's Meet the Press.
Now, word is that the MTP host might be looking to land at CNN.
Page Six says that the embattled anchor was seen meeting at CNN Thursday.
Multiple sources say that the former NBC White House correspondent was seen in CNN’s building Thursday afternoon, signaling he could be prepping a move himself.
Of course if Gregory did jump to CNN it would reunite him with his old boss Jeff Zucker.
“No one was surprised to hear David was meeting over at CNN,” a network-news insider said after word spread that Gregory was spotted at the rival news network. “Jeff and David have been very close professionally and personally. Jeff was a champion of David’s during his time at NBC. Their families are close. They have a very strong relationship that dates back to the 1990s.” Before rising to CEO, Zucker had been producer of “Today” when Gregory was hired at the network.
Another source said CNN is “currently testing for a prime-time pilot that could be perfect for David.”
Stay tuned....
Weather Anchor Dagmar Madcap filled in on the Weekend Today Show this past weekend and if we don't know better, we would think she was sending crude message to the viewers.
Another round is in the books in the Twitter fight between Piers Morgan and Larry King. It seems, every couple of months the two go at it on Twitter like a couple of school girls.
The latest spat comes after King was talking with a radio station about how Piers Morgan trashed CNN's ratings at 9PM.
That got Piers' panties all in a bunch and he went off on King on Twitter:
Stay classy Piers,,,stay classy.
Fox News 'The Five' host Bob Beckel sent out a tweet saying that he was sorry for what he said on the show and also added that the boss is not happy.
The problem is, no one can figure out which thing he said that he's apologizing for? Is it for his "Chinaman" comment? Calling the Bachelorette contestant a "slut"? His comment about "smoking dope in the White House"? Or was it for saying that one of the show's Producers “should be hung?”
Maybe he is saying sorry for all of the above.
In fact maybe Beckel should just tweet out an apology for the shit he says every week, you know just to cover his ass.
Another WFAA (Dallas) Reporter is leaving the station to go into PR.
At least six other on air talent have left WFAA to go into Public Relations and Reporter Teresa Woodard is the latest one.
Woodard has been at the station just over 2 years and is leaving to join educational software company.
WFAA News Director Carolyn Mungo said, “It’s a loss for us and for our viewers,” in an email sent to the staff.
Woodard leaves the station in a couple of weeks.
Sad news coming out of Baltimore....

KTXL Anchor Sabrina Rodriguez has been arrested on charges of grand theft, burglary and conspiracy.
Rodriguez turned herself in to Sacramento police after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
The warrant charges that Rodriguez aided an accomplice in the theft of 10 wallets worth $2,500 from a Coach outlet store just outside Sacramento.
Store employees said they recognized Rodriguez from watching the news.
Rodriguez’s attorney said she is “100 percent innocent” of the charges. She is currently on a "voluntary" leave of absence from the station.
A spokesman for KTXL said in a written statement that the charges relate to a personal situation and is not connected with her work at the station. Really?!
Rodriguez is free on $10,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sacramento Superior Court on Aug. 29.
When word came down that Scripps was merging with Journal, it was shocking to many people.
What was more shocking, the staff at many Journal stations found out about it through social media and phone calls from friends working at at Scripps stations.
Journal managers told the staff that they were caught off guard and the announcement wasn't supposed to be made until yesterday morning. But, when word leaked out, the news was put out early, but no one told the staff at the Journal stations.
Yesterday on a conference call, Journal management apologized for leaving the staff in the dark and they called the miscommunication a "glitch."
Ya think?
You have to love how people in the communications business don't have a clue as to how to communicate.
Former WGCL News Director Lane Michaelsen is resurfacing at Sinclair.
Michaelsen broke the news Today on Twitter:
But..... WNBC in New York seems to think it does.
Now how am I supposed to live without seeing "You will not believe what this cat did when she saw the dog taking a bath" video?
After 37 years as the anchor of WSB in Atlanta, Monica Kaufman Pearson left the job two years ago.
Today, she will be one of the 1380 students to walk at the University of Georgia's summer Commencement ceremony.
Pearson retired from WSB in 2012 after decades in front of the camera and enrolled in a master's program in UGA's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Like many nontraditional students who go back to school later in life, Pearson was seeking a change in direction.
Pearson wanted to teach journalism to college students, but first she had to become one herself and earn a master's degree.
"After 37 years working at (WSB-TV) and 45 years in the business, it would have been a shame to take everything I had learned to the grave," Pearson said. "It was so important to share what I've learned in the business with young people. I wanted to share information, but I also wanted to leave my legacy."

Sometimes, TV people should just stay off Twitter....
The Tampa Bay Rays traded David Price to the Detroit Tigers. WTVT in Tampa got on Twitter and sent out this classless tweet:
But, WJBK, the Fox station in Motown shot back at Tampa and their lame fan support with a tweet of their own:
WTVT then kind of sort or offered up and apology, but since they used Ron Burgundy in that sorry, it showed that still haven't fond any class:
Stay Classy Motown..... Because it looks like Tampa sure isn't.
KMSP in Minneapolis was doing a story about Baltimore Ravens Running Back Ray Rice and his apology after he attacked his wife.
The station obviously ran the wrong video, but in a comical way it kind of fit.
But, this is a serious story about domestic violence, so don't laugh when you watch the video. OK?
Yesterday the big news out of Orlando was that popular WESH Anchor Martha Sugalski has left the station after 8 years.
She's headed across the street to WFTV, but no one is saying that officially.
s the WESH evening news was on the air yesterday, Sugalski was not on set, but viewers could still see her.
Sugalski sent a tweet from the beach.
That sure beats the hell out of sitting in a cold studio anyway.
