George Zimmerman Stopped By Cops

July ratings needle mover George Zimmerman was pulled over by police in Forney, Texas this past Weekend.

The Trayvon Martin killer was stopped for speeding and after he was pulled over, he advised police that he had a gun in is glove compartment.

TMZ says that  Zimmerman told cops he was headed "nowhere in particular."

Once again, Zimmerman got off. Cops say that he was let go after just 5 minutes with just a warning.

Oh Shit! MSNBC's Al Sharpton and Nancy Grace are going to be pissed.

Bra-less Reporter: I'm Done with the Media Circus

blogger-image--1833826421.jpg

Fired WAAY Reporter Shea Allen says she is no officially done with the media circus surrounding her firing after her confessional blog post.

Allen took to her blog again to tell her fans (and haters) that she is moving on with the next phase of her life.

Allen writes:

Well kids...it's been fun.

Still haven't decided if this is a dream or a nightmare. I've always wanted to tell the news, not be it.

I want to make one major clarification. I'm not even going to address the nonsense that's been floating around but I will address one huge misnomer. I was never asked to take the blog down. I was fired without discussion. I took the blog down immediately following my termination, then reposted it Friday evening. There was no defiance or petulance. If I could go back and do it over, I would have never written the post. My job was worth 100 times more than any of this media circus.

Finally, in regards to said media circus, I'm done. I spent 48 hours in the fray, got my points across, but now it's time to focus on my future and rebuilding my life. No Dr. Phil. No Geraldo. No Piers Morgan.

Meanwhile, thanks for the support. To the haters, I respect your right to hate. I will continue to not filter the comments, good or bad.

What's next you ask? Well, that's the million dollar question isn't it.

Allen did post pictures of her 15 minutes of fame, but at least she didn't go all A.J. Clemente on us.

Stay tuned....

M-I-A Anchor Busted for Public Intoxication

M-I-A Anchor Busted for Public Intoxication

You may remember the story of Paula Lopez, the Santa Barbara Anchor that went missing and a huge police effort was launched to try and find her.

She showed up a few hours later in her own home. Police, her station or Lopez herself would never say what happened?

After spending weeks off the newscast at KEYT, Lopez finally returned and again never said anything about why she was gone.

Then just a short time later, Lopez went missing from the air again. The station never commented and no one said anything as to where she was.

Well.... Lopez finally popped up again in the public eye.

But this time is was in a mugshot after she was arrested for public-intoxication.

The same woman that cops say he choked and threaten to kill.

“They are there together almost every weekend and sometimes Friday when Ashley gets off work,” said one member. “They are still together.”

It appears that WKBN (Youngstown) Anchor Teresa Weakly is headed to LIN's WIVB in Buffalo, although WIVB is not confirming anything.

WKBN has a job posting on their website for a  female co-anchor. Word is that it's Weakly's old gig and that she is shuffling off to Buffalo.

Weakly was spotted in the WIVB newsroom and had tryouts alongside both morning co-anchor Jordan Williams and evening anchor Don Postles.

So which female anchor at WIVB is being replaced or demoted?

The station isn't talking and the staff has not been told of any moves as of yet.

Richmond Newscast is Cancelled

WTVR in Richmond had to cancel their entire 5PM newscast yesterday and then had more trouble with this morning's newscasts.

Anchor Lorenzo Hall posted this to his Facebook yesterday:

Screen Shot 2013-07-31 at 6.18.27 AM.png

Then this morning Hall told viewers via Facebook again that the newscast was not happening.

Screen Shot 2013-07-31 at 6.20.07 AM.png

Not sure what the technical problems are, but if I was the station's News Director I would be screaming like hell at the engineers! Missing newscasts is absolutely unacceptable.

Word is that WTVR has changed their news slogan to "If you want the latest news first and fast, don't watch us, we're not on anyway."

July Ratings Good for CNN Bad for MSNBC

Screen Shot 2013-07-31 at 6.56.07 AM.png

CNN is starting to show life and no one could be happier then Boss Jeff Zucker.

CNN's ratings are way up compared to last year's numbers and the cable net seems to be turning around it's dismal ratings of the past couple of years.

The only thing that could wipe the smile off Zucker's face is the ratings for his morning show "New Day."

The show finished the July book with low ratings and was beaten by both Fox News and MSNBC.

Speaking of MSNBC, they sucked wind in the July ratings.

With not much political news and the George Zimmerman trial, MSNBC fell further back in the numbers.

MSNBC's Zimmerman trial coverage was awful and it showed with their lack of viewers.

The cable news network that uses the strangest method to get viewers is seeing their numbers continue to free fall.  MSNBC relies on lots of politics and no "real news" to happen for it to be successful in the ratings.

As long as news keeps breaking, MSNBC is screwed.

Well At Least He Didn't do it on the Newscast

Well At Least He Didn't do it on the Newscast

If you have read FTVLive for any length of time, then you know we hate wedding proposals on the newscast.

KHOU (Houston) Anchor Lisa Hernandez's boyfriend Joel Blank popped the question and thnakfully he didn't do it during the newscast.

Hernandez and her boyfriend Blank, a Broadcast Coordinator for the Houston Rockets, enjoyed a small acoustic concert by the Goo Goo Dolls on Tuesday at a local radio station.

When the music ended, Blank popped the question.

“I said a long time ago that when you plus me, equals we -- we would become unstoppable,” Blank said. “And on our first date you said we both went on our last first date. Today I'm going to make sure that's possible.”

Hernandez was surprised and surprised even more people when she told the guy "No!"

OK...we're kidding on that one, she said "yes."

The video if you care....which of course we don't is up after the jump.
