It's Not Over Yet

The verdict came in, Jodi Arias was found guilty of First Degree Murder.

All the Phoenix stations went wall to wall with the coverage (remaining calm while doing do) of the verdict. As expected, none of the networks broke into programming with coverage.

The cable nets were all over it and no network was more sad to see a verdict than HLN. Not because of of the guilty verdict, but because their obsession with the trial that has boosted their ratings is coming to an end.

But, there is still the death penalty phase and that should eek out a few more days of coverage for Nancy Grace and her gang of hooligans over at HLN.

Ann Curry has No Plans for Tell All

Screen Shot 2013-05-09 at 7.13.55 AM.png

If you're waiting for a tell all book from Ann Curry about her canning from The Today Show....you might be waiting a longtime.

“Ann isn’t writing a tell-all book, memoir, expose, work of fiction. Nada. She has moved on from the drama of being fired from Today last year. She isn’t focused in the past and is focusing on her work. Ann has been getting more on screen time at NBC, and she is pursuing stories of interest to her that aren’t getting the attention from the media,” a source told RadarOnline.com.

Media reports have circulated this week that Curry is being courted by multiple publishers to write a revealing memoir about her demotion from the morning news
program.

There just comes a point when enough is enough, and that time is now,” the insider said.

Amen to that!

Chicago Weatherman's Brother to Get out of Jail Early

Screen Shot 2013-05-09 at 5.57.24 AM.png

Former Enron CEO and current jailbird Jeffrey Skilling should be out of jail in just four years, skipping nearly a decade of his prison sentence for corporate fraud and graft.

How is he able to get out so early? Skilling is expected to get early release with a combination of cash payments and legal maneuvers.

Word is that Skilling is paying Enron's victims some $40 million and has agreed to stop the lawsuits that are involved with his conviction and sentence in 2006.

Skilling's promised payments would equal 0.1% of the $40 billion Enron stole under Skilling's leadership. He was originally sentenced to 24 years behind bars, but his total sentence would be half of that if his lawyers get approval.

The TV news tie in?

Jeff Skilling is the brother of WGN Chicago Weatherman Tom Skilling.

CNN's Chris Cuomo is catching some heat for his interview with Amanda Knox last night.

Gawker writes that it appeared that Cuomo felt he had been hired by the morality polizia to interrogate Knox about her role as a sexfun badgirl.

"Knox is into some freaky sexual things!" he barked at her.

"Were you into into deviant sex? Insensitive question, but hey..."

"Still smoke weed?"

Throughout the interview, Cuomo seemed to be working a sort of good cop/bad cop angle in which he was the bad cop and the only good cop is a bad cop so he was also the good cop (a bad cop).
