Sam Donaldson to Fight DUI Charge

Did anyone expect anything different?
Former ABC News Correspondent Sam Donaldson who made a career of yelling at the Presidents, is going to fight his DUI charge in court.
Donaldson was arrested in December and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
He has pleaded not guilty and requested a nonjury trial in the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas, where a Georgetown attorney familiar with DUI cases will represent him.
Donaldson was stopped by Lewes police while driving back on December 1st.

If you listen to Glenn beck tell the story, he got out of Fox News to save his soul.
If you listen to Fox News, Beck left to save his ass.
Beck who left (or was pushed out) Fox News told the student body at New York University that he had to get out of Fox News. "I remember feeling, ‘If you do not leave now, you won’t leave with your soul intact."
If Beck hasn't learned by now, you don't take a swipe at Fox News, without expecting to get hit back.

Lauer was spotted taking a long float down Sag Harbor Bay in his shiny Yacht.
Yes Matt Lauer has a Yacht and you don't.
The Ann Curry executioner was spotted Saturday riding the luxury Hinckley T38 yacht, which costs about $1.5 Million bucks.
Lauer does show he has a sense of humor, the boat is named "Resilient."
The TV celeb got driving tips from two instructors who tagged along during the daylong jaunt.
So just when you might be feeling sorry for Matt Lauer and all the bad press he's getting.
Remember, he has a yacht.

Last week we told you that WAGA Anchor Amanda Davis announced she was "retiring" from the station. That news came following her arrest for DUI back in Novemner of last year.

Kelly Nash, who covers the Tamba Bay Rays for Fox's Sun Sports, was in Boston Saturday for the Astros-Red Sox game, and decided to pass the time during batting practice by taking a few selfies around Fenway Park.
Here's what she had to say about the picture:
I was taking a picture of myself in the seats above the Green Monster during Red Sox batting practice.
Producer Art Dryce had called out 'heads up!' a few times while I was taking pictures around the left field section, but none of those balls actually fell close to me, so I took my chances turning my back on batting practice for a picture.

Conan O'Brien and Barack Obama provided more laughter Saturday night at the White HouseCorrespondents' Association Dinner than you're likely to find this weekend at the multiplex (Video of O'Brien's bit can be seen here)
The humor was often topical, sharp and elaborate.
Obama's speech contained an inspired film clip about Steven Spielberg's next film: "Obama." The clip presented Obama playing Daniel Day-Lewis playing Obama. Tracy Morganannounced he was portraying Joe Biden.
The correspondents' association turned to Kevin Spacey of "House of Cards" for help with its big spoof (See the video in the story below this one).

Former “Today” show anchor Meredith Vieira won’t be reading Brian Stelter’s dishy new book on her old morning show, “Top of the Morning,” any time soon.
“I’m not interested,” Vieira, who’s included in the tome, recently told Page Six.
“I’m over it . . . I’ve kind of been-there-done-that, and I don’t know what the interest is.” She added, “I don’t want to get on a high horse, because I understand why people write it. I’m not trying to say he’s wrong to do it, but I look at it and it’s so personal to me. It’s my friends.”
Vieira also defended embattled host Matt Lauer, telling us, “Even if [NBC] blew it from a p.r. point of view, you’ve got to move on. I think what is happening to Matt is really wrong.”
Emails Show NBC was Looking to Bounce Jay Leno Months Ago

It looks like NBC knew they were going to push Jay Leno out the door months ago.
Emails show that several months before NBC announced on April 3 it was moving “The Tonight Show” back to New York with Fallon replacing Jay Leno as host, the network and the (NY Governor) Cuomo administration had talks about expanding the state’s film production tax credit program to cover talk and variety shows that relocate from other states.
The emails were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.

WPVI (Philly) anchor Jim Gardner has been on the air for years.
But he has also embraced Social Media and loves to hang out on Twitter.
When the Phillies had their opening day of the 2013 baseball season, Gardner Tweeted: "'Breathe in the smell of beer, mustard and funnel cake. Ah, we are reborn.' Quote from anonymous Mayan philosopher.#phillies."
Then he waited.
Nothing.
Huh? Why isn't anyone responding? C'mon! That one was funny, he thinks. Kind of, at least, right?

FTVLive told you on the first day of the May book, WTKR in Norfolk had interviewed the station's former Anchor Les Smith.
Smith was the longtime anchor at the station until he disappeared from the airwaves without explanation. No one knew why. One day he just didn’t come back to work.
Now, WTKR is going back to the former talent pool to take another dip.
This time their going to use former weatherman Jon Cash to try and pull in some ratings.
Cash made headlines back in 2010 when the station fired him after 20 years on the air. The rumors were that he was not fired because of his evangelical ministry. He sued the station for religious discrimination.

Couric and her show “Katie,” celebrated her show’s 100th episode with mother-daughter duo Joan and Melissa Rivers back on Feb. 22.
However, Word is the older Rivers was not doing much celebration.
“Joan left the show furious with Katie and her producers, vowing to never return,” one WE-TV insider tells the NY Daily News's Confidential. “It was meant to be a funny, silly, Oscar-themed party, but instead Joan felt the usually perky Katie got nasty.”
