Things Get Testy in Houston Newsroom

Insiders tell FTVLive that there was a bit of a war in the KPRC newsroom after the announced death of OJ Simpson.

The station’s digital team posted a graphic that said, “Rest in Peace, OJ”

A station insider tells FTVLive that the Digital Producers refused to follow directions from the digital director Tiffany Lupenski to make it a more straightforward announcement.

“The Gen Z digital team (most of whom weren’t alive for the criminal or civil cases) then accused the news team of being racist for demanding an objective announcement,” said a station insider.

Another insider told FTVLive that the news director was not around as this was happening and that there was supposed to be a meeting about the OJ graphic when she returned.

Talk about putting the toothpaste back in the tube.

“The only way I can describe KPRC right now is “clown show”!” the newsroom source said.
