The Biggest Problem Chris Cuomo Will Have at News Nation

I saw this post of someone replying to the fact that Nexstar’s News Nation had hired Chris Cuomo and it was very insightful.

When Nexstar launched News Nation, they promised it would be an objective, unbiased look at the news.

Chris Cuomo has never been either one of those things.

But, the fact that Cuomo is clearly not unbiased, nor is he a journalist, that is not going to be his biggest problem at News Nation.

The problem is that most people still don’t have a clue as to what News Nation is? Despite being on the air for well over a year now, the ratings are awful.

Cuomo is going to find that booking top guests for News Nation is a tough task and a very tough sell for the bookers working there.

Look at Dan Abrams's show and you would not exactly call the guests A-listers by any stretch. Abrams's biggest bookings have been Bill O’Reilly and ironically, Chris Cuomo. It’s not a knock against Abrams, it’s the fact that an A-Lister is going to waste their time to go on a channel and be seen by a very small audience.

So, that means Cuomo is going to be stuck with the so called “media whores” that will go on any channel at any time.

Bringing on Gloria Allred, Ann Coulter, Mick Mulvaney, Mary Trump, or Andrew Cuomo (who you know will be one of his first guests) is not exactly ratings gold.

At CNN Cuomo’s ratings were about 700,000, at News Nation he might be lucky to settle into 120,000 total viewers and maybe 20,000 in the demo if he’s lucky.

Not many A-listers are going to waste their time with such a small audience, even if they do know that Fredo will be lobbing softballs in their direction.

So, look for a show packed with left-wing politicians that are in desperate shape to try and get elected, or reelected in November.

In the first 6 months that Chris Cuomo is on News Nation, the over/under of him having his brother Andrew on the show is 10 times.

Place your best now.
