FTVLive has told you how NBC invested in high tech weather trucks they call “Storm Rangers” for their O&O’s.

But because NBC did not want to shell out the big bucks to buy a Strom Ranger for each O&O, the trucks are shared between different stations.

They are not promoted as being shared and the company wants viewers to believe that each and every NBC O&O has their very own Storm Ranger.

But maybe, when the NBC O&O in Boston tosses live to Storm Ranger, they should make sure that the truck is not broadcasting color bars that say, “WNBC Storm Ranger.”

It kind of defeats the purpose.
