What's in a Name?

When it comes to reporting the news, it has always been Who? What? Where? When? and Why?

It looks like WTIC (Hartford) Sports Anchor Kainani Stevens left out a few of the W’s, including the first one.

The Journal Inquirer says that Stevens forgot an important element when she reported that Central Connecticut State University football coach Peter Rossomando is leaving the Blue Devils to take a job with Rutgers — she never mentioned his name. Isn’t that the most important part of the story?

She also neglected to say what job he was taking with Rutgers, offensive line coach, not head coach.

We know TV sportscasters are always pressed for time, but those were two major details that viewers needed to know to see the full picture.
