Sources tell FTVLive that NBC National Correspondent Peter Alexander is about to get bumped up to the Anchor chair. 

Word is that Alexander is the odds on favorite to takeover for Craig Melvin on the Saturday edition of Weekend Today. 

Melvin hosted his last Weekend Today, yesterday.

NBC said that they would name Melvin's replacement in the next few weeks, adding that his spot will be filled by guest co-anchors until a decision is made. 

But, sources tell FTVLive that when that decision is made, it will more than likely be Alexander.
