DC Anchor Taking Heat

These days, it seems to take a lot to get local viewers riled up over a news story. But at WTTG-TV in DC, AM anchor Holly Morris has managed to piss off a lot of parents.

In a story called, "Stealing The Spotlight", the anchors discussed 17-year old Michael Brown, who got a free-ride to 20 of the top universities in the country, including Georgetown, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. Morris said she thought the kid was ridiculous and obnoxious for doing so. She kept jabbering and then said he could only accept one and was taking spots away from other students. The discussion then eroded into 3 people talking over each other.

That prompted a lot of angry people to open up their social media. Fox 5's Facebook page has some really entertaining prose.

Why a veteran anchor would think that making a derogatory comment about the accomplishments of a kid is OK, is beyond us. She may want to have a copy of her resume tape handy, just in case.
