WHOI Anchor Eric Greene was fired from the Quincy Media in Peoria, but the station is not saying why?
“I can confirm that Eric Greene is no longer with the company,” said Mark DeSantis, the station’s general manager.
If the Mayor of Peoria fired his Chief of Staff, you can bet that WHOI would demand to know why? But, when it's one of their own, they say bupkis.
Sources at the station said that Greene was fired over “a personnel issue.” Greene, who’d been with the station just over four years, had anchored the 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts for Channel 19 and the 9 p.m. news on WAOE (sister station of WHOI).
Before coming to Peoria in 2013, Greene was a weekday anchor and producer for WVVA-TV in Bluefield, W.Va.
