Turmoil in Miami

Yesterday, FTVLive told you how WPLG in Miami showed how not to handle social media.

WPLG responded to a Twitter reply with a demeaning response and seemed to downplay the story of an alleged rape.

After some back and forth, the station finally deleted the tweet and said that the employee behind the tweets had been "disciplined."

But, according to station sources, if the guy was "disciplined," it was a slap on the wrist at worse. Also, sources tell FTVLive that a number of women at the station are "furious" as to how the entire situation was handled.

This is the same station that recently also took to their Facebook page and repeatedly said sexual battery is not rape, and argued with commenters online about it.

It seems that the social media department at WPLG does not have a clue as to what is or is not sexual assault against women.

It also seems that station news management really doesn't care either.
