The story about the actions of Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein goes back years and years and are just now coming to the surface. 

The New York Times was first out of the block with the story and it was followed by a number of others, including an excellent story by Ronan Farrow in the New Yorker.  

But, when Farrow first started working on the Weinstein story, he was doing it for NBC News. So, how did it end up in the New Yorker and not on NBC? 

Rachel Maddow asked Farrow that last night and it sure appears that NBC spiked the story.

Was NBC scared of Weinstein? Did he have friends in high places at the Peacock? 

It's hard to shed light on these abuses by powerful men if other powerful men are helping keep the story from getting out. 

We will likely never know why NBC spiked the Weinstein story, but I will say, there is a very foul order coming from 30 Rock right now.
