The GM is off, the News Director is nowhere to be found, the sales office is dark and you basically have the station to yourself.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I always liked working the major holidays, because it was so much less stress not having all the bosses around.
When I became News Director, I would still work the holidays, because I always believed that if I’m asking people to give up time from their families, I should be at work as well.
I would find a hotel or restaurant that was serving up Thanksgiving dinner and make it so employees that were working, could go over on their break and at least get some turkey. I also made it so they could bring their family with them and enjoy the meal together. I wasn’t like dinner at home, but at least they could all enjoy a few moments together and the station would pick up the tab.
This Thanksgiving, I have no plans to eat turkey and will more than likely spend some time at the beach.
Yesterday, on Rory’s morning walk, I snapped this picture along the St. John’s River as the sun was rising. Yep, living in Florida this time of year doesn’t suck.
Have a good Thanksgiving, thanks for all of you that stop by FTVLive each and every day. Thanks to the companies that sponsor FTVLive and help keep the lights on.
And a HUGE THANKS to those of you that are FTVLive Patrons and help support us!
