An employee at WTSP in Tampa (you know, Elliot Wiser's station) was arrested by police early yesterday morning on child porn charges. 

Cops busted Mark Douglas Branson at his home and charged him with 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Branson is a Floor Director at the Tegna owned station. 

Police say the investigation began in July after receiving information that the suspect, identified as the forty-nine year old Branson, was in possession of child pornography. Detectives say they were able to recover more than 10 images depicting child pornography from electronic devices belonging to Branson.

What was interesting is that GM Elliot Wiser did not put out any kind of memo about an employee being arrested. The station ran a quick VO on the story during the 5:30 newscast and for some at the station it was the first time they heard a co-worker was arrested. 

Got to love the communications business.
