In the October issue of Washingtonian magazine, WRC Anchor Jim Vance says that local TV news is in a "sorry state" and he points the blame squarely at the TV consultants.

 "There's something to be said for journalists being allowed to make judgments based on their training and on their familiarity with the subject matter and their audience - not some dude from Omaha, Nebraska, who takes computer numbers and 20 people in a focus group and from that determines what you need to do." Vance says.

"You can't bullshit people," Vanced adds.
