KTVU Gaffe Gets the Taiwanese Animation Treatment

You know it's bad when your station's screw up gets the Taiwanese Animation Treatment.

Next Media Animation, the Taiwanese animation studio known for its hilarious YouTube recreations of worldly events, has produced its take on the KTVU pilot identification gaffe that went viral last week.

The animation opens with two KTVU executives eating Panda Express at a conference table. One of the executives learns the names of four pilots on board Asiana Airlines Flight 214 from a “credible source” at the National Transportation Safety Board. The “credible source” is depicted as Bart Simpson.

Here's the video (we should warn you that video may not be safe for work):

Bay Area Fox affiliate KTVU thought they had learned the names of the flight crew of Asiana flight 214 that crashed at SFO last Saturday and reported them as "Sum Ting Wong," "Wi Tu Lo," "Ho Lee Fu," and "Bang Ding Ow" last Friday afternoon.
