LA Anchor Suspended

FTVLive told you that Nexstar’s KTLA had parted ways with popular KTLA Anchor Lynette Romero.

Despite being a longtime Anchor at the LA station, Romero was not allowed by station management to say goodbye on-air and wasn’t even allowed to pack up her desk.

Viewers found out that Romero was leaving after Entertainment Reporter Sam Rubin was handed a script by management and told to read it on-air. The rest of the anchor team was instructed not to talk about it.

FTVLive reported that Romero is headed across the street to KNBC.

Management was thrown for a loop yesterday, when Romero’s co-anchor and friend, KTLA Mark Mester went on the air and talked about her exit.

He apologized to viewers “on behalf of the station” and he apologized to Romero as to how she was treated by the station.

Sources tell FTVLive KTLA management was “fuming” at Mester’s remarks on the newscast and he has been suspended from the station.

FTVLive will have much more on this story on Monday’s edition.

Here is video of Mester’s remarks:
