So, What Happens to Brian Stelter?

When Brian Stelter left the New York Times to join CNN, he sold his integrity to become the mouthpiece of Jeff Zucker.

When Jeff Zucker wanted to push a narrative on CNN, insiders say that Stelter was the one tapped to do just that.

“His desk used to sit just outside Jeff’s office,” said one insider. “The joke was, if you couldn’t get in to see Zucker, just talk to Brian,” the insider added.

Stelter’s job at CNN was “Media Reporter” but he was really just there to carry Zucker’s water. He was also there to bash Fox News and the right-wing media over and over again.

Stelter slammed Fox News while ignoring growing stories inside CNN and he only touched on those stories after they were given wide play in other media outlets.

Zucker tried to defend Chris Cuomo, all because Jeff Zucker told him to, according to CNN sources. But, once Zucker sacked Cuomo, you could see Stelter turn on him like a jilted lover.

Now, Jeff Zucker is gone and some are wondering if Stelter won’t be far behind him?

My prediction is Stelter will stay and become the voice of the new boss at CNN. Brian Stelter sold his journalistic soul when he joined CNN and I think he will continue to suck up to the right people at the right time and survive at CNN.

Sure, Stelter often ignores the big stories and scandals brewing inside CNN (like Jeff Zucker, Allison Gollust relationship) but that’s what CNN wants. They don’t want a Reporter, they want a PR person that cheers on the network while slamming the competition.

That is what Brian Stelter does and he does it well.

Time will tell what Stelter’s future at CNN is, but according to an insider, “he wasn’t walking around as his cocky self after Zucker was kicked to the curb.”

Stay tuned….
