Sinclair Swings the Ax in Georgia

Sources tell FTVLive that Sinclair backed up the pink slip express to the doors at WGXA in Macon, Georgia.

Insiders tell us that yesterday several news employees, including a two Reporters and the Sports Director were all called into the corner office and told to pack up their stuff.

Word is that management has offered to “give good recommendations” for these employees to move to other shops within Sinclair. The question is after this, will any of them want to stay with Sinclair?

Word is the station has also cut the morning newscast from 4hrs to 3hrs.

Macon is pretty much a starter market and as one employee said to FTVLive, “many of the reporters in the station are fresh out of school and will find themselves going back home to their parent’s house to regroup and hopefully find their next job in the biz.”

Yesterday was a cold dose of reality as what they can expect in this business.
