One Meteorologist is in and One is Out at Denver Station

KWGN Weather Anchor Jennifer Broome is leaving the station next week, but neither she or KWGN's News Director are saying for where.

News Director Holly Gauntt said in a memo to staff: “I can’t divulge exactly what it is (Broome) will be doing but I can tell she’s moving to a top 10 market for an entirely new kind of challenge! Jenn has deep ties to Colorado and will be back here on a regular basis. She still wants to turn Explore Colorado stories when/if time allows when she’s back in town, which she plans to be a lot.”

Broome has been with the station since 2010. 

As she leaves, Matt Makens has been hired starting June 20 as the meteorologist for the 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. newscasts on KWGN.

Makens, who left KMGH in March, makes his appointment official, re-emerging on-air after honoring the “no-compete” clause in his contract with KMGH.
