Together Again

Yesterday, FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that WGCLin Atlanta had parted ways with News Director Larry Perret and Senior Executive Producer Leesa Dillon.

The note on the change by GM Mark Pimentel, was short and sweet concerning the terminations and also included the announcement of the new ND; Frank Volpicella.

Volpicella recently was ND at KVUE in Austin, and took the TEGNA buyout after 15 years. 

So how did the station sack their ND and replace him on the same day?

For Pimentel, it was going back to a familiar face. When Pimentel was GM at WAFF in Huntsville back in the mid-90s, guess who he's News Director was? 

Yep....Frank Volpicella.
