Former KHOU news anchor Christine Haas claimed that her then doctor boyfriend assaulted her and broke her finger.
A grand jury disagreed with the former Anchor.
Dr Rafael Lugo, a surgeon at Houston Methodist Hospital, was charged with felony assault of a which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
Haas, accused the surgeon of grabbing her by the hand, dislocating and fracturing her left ring finger as she tried to leave his home.
This alleged incident was said to have happened on December 8, 2015. Haas still has three screws in her finger and required multiple surgeries to repair the injuries.
Lugo denied injuring his ex and claimed Haas slammed her hand in a door. The grand jury dismissed the charges against the doctor.
Haas, who began her own public relations business, later moved from Houston to Austin.
