Scripps Names New ND at Florida Station

Scripps has finally gotten around to naming a new News Director at their West Palm Beach station.

And they didn't go far to find her.

WPTV/WFLX named Nicole Hogensen as news director for both stations, effective immediately.

Hogensen first came to the station the in 2010 as managing editor. Last year she stepped in to the assistant news director position for both stations.

“She has a tremendous work ethic and a laser focus on growing our audiences on all platforms,” said Lloyd Bucher, vice president and general manager of WPTV. “We are very fortunate to have someone with Nicole’s news judgement and leadership abilities here in our newsroom that we can develop and promote to this new challenge.”

Prior to WPTV, she was the managing editor at WTVR in Richmond, Virginia. She also gained additional experience as assignment editor at WBNS in Columbus, Ohio, as reporter at WJET in Erie, Pennsylvania, and as assignment editor and newsroom manager at WKYC/WVPX in Cleveland.

She replaces Dan Wilson, who left the station.
