It's Not Official Until Lester Stops By

At the end of the month, WRAL is leaving CBS to become and NBC affiliate. But, everyone knows that it's not official until NBC Anchor Lester Holt stops by the station.

He did that this week to welcome WRAL to the NBC family. WRAL Anchor David Crabtree says that Holt, "puts you at ease the moment he says hello".

Crabtree says that hold sat down with he and his co-anchor Debra Morgan during his visit.

"Deb's first question may be your first question. She asked, "For people who aren't used to watching NBC News, what can we expect? "We are aggressive. When we head for a big story, we attack it," Holt said. "We want to own it.""

When asked about the new partnership with WRAL, Holt responded just like the marketing department wanted him to. "It's so critical because this station represents the best in broadcast journalism and it also represents the best of a station that is part of the fabric of the community. You serve your viewers on every level," Holt said.

Holt then boarded a plane likely to never return to WRAL again.

But hey, it was fun while it lasted.
