A St. Louis Reporter was running for elected office, but pulled his name out of the hat after his GM found out.
KMOV Reporter Steve Harris had filed late last week to be a candidate for the Wentzville Scool Board.
When the St. Louis Post Dispatch contactedKMOV General Manager Mike Murphy, who had been out of town, to ask about Harris' candidacy, he knew nothing about it.
Then yesterday, Murphy said that Harris "will not be pursuing that, he's pulling his name out of the hat.
"Steve is a good man, a good parent and he wanted to help," Murphy said, then added that holding an elected position would have conflicted with Harris' news reporting duties.
Harris was unavailable for comment.
