Hearst Station Hires New Morning Anchor

WMTW(Portland, Maine) has finally found a replacement for Morning Anchor/Model Erin Ovalle.

The station has hired Cristina Frank, who was the Anchor at KSNT in Topeka, Kansas. While in Topeka, frank got to report the news and milk goats (see picture).

Here is the internal memo that was sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive:

Hi Everyone,

I am happy to announce that we have found our next morning anchor and she’ll be here in time for sweeps!  Cristina Frank is a New England native who is moving back this way from Topeka, Kansas where she was the 5pm, 6pm, 9pm and 10pm anchor on KSNT.  Cristina began her career at our sister station, WCVB as an associate producer.  Since then, she’s worked at stations in Mason City, Iowa and Binghamton, New York, as well as a stint as a communications director for a Massachusetts state representative.  She is a graduate of the Ohio University Scripps School of Journalism.

Cristina is originally from Worcester County, Massachusetts and she is looking forward to eating great seafood again!  As I write this, she and her fiancé are making their way to New England.  They are both looking forward to calling Portland their new home.

Cristina’s first day at WMTW will be this Monday.  Tuesday will be her first day on-air alongside Meghan Torjussen, Mallory Brooke, and Ted McInerney on Maine’s Total Weather & News This Morning.  She completes a morning team that is poised for success in February, coming off extremely successful books in July and November.  I have no doubt this morning team will be the strongest in the market.

Please feel free to stop by and introduce yourself to Cristina next week and join me in saying welcome aboard!
