KC Deuce is Out after Just a Few Months on the Job

Here today, gone tomorrow.

When a station hires a new staffer, the email from management is all up beat and full of promise. When that same person is bounced, the memo is much more succinct.

One April 30, KSHB News Director Carrie Hofmann sent out this email to the staff about the station hiring a new Assistant News Director:

"We are excited to say we have hired an Assistant News Director. Mike Curtis will be moving here from Memphis, TN where he was the Assistant ND at WHBQ. He has a strong digital focus and has a proven record of creating innovative and compelling content. He has been a newsroom leader for decades. He has also worked in Philadelphia at WCAU and the PBS station in New Jersey to name just a few spots in his 30 year career. He has a passion to win and we think he’ll be a great addition to our team. His first day will be May 27th."

Yesterday, Hofmann sent out this email to the news staff:

"Mike Curtis has resigned effective immediately to pursue other opportunities"

Guess he wasn't the "great addition" to the team after all.
