Anchor Changes in Milwaukee

When longtime Milwaukee Anchor Mike Jacobs retired earlier this year from WTMJ, it opened up some spots on the station's Anchor desk.

Shannon Sims, who joined the station in April 2013 as a weekend Anchor is being shuffled over the weekdays and a main gig with Charles Benson. The two will be anchoring both the 4 and PM newscasts.

FTVLive obtained a copy of the internal email sent to the staff by News Director Janet Hundley about the changes which start early next year:

Subject: Changes in the NEW NEWS YEAR!

What a year! As you look around the room there are a lot of new faces. We are thrilled to have them and equally as thrilled to have the depth of knowledge that our most seasoned staff brings to the TODAY'S TMJ4 team.

We have some exciting on-air changes to announce for TODAY'S TMJ4 News coming in the new year.

TODAY'S TMJ4 anchors Charles Benson and Shannon Sims are now the permanent team for "Live at 4:00" and "Live at 6:00."   Both Charles and Shannon have a passion for our community and they really make a great team on the news desk.

They are both also accomplished reporters and we will not give that up. Charles will help lead the way for our political coverage in 2016 in addition to helping provide regular enterprise stories for our afternoon shows and occasionally for the 10p.

Shannon's passion for our community will also provide our viewers with unique stories they won't see anywhere else both for the afternoon and also occasionally for the 10p.

Congratulations to Charles and Shannon!
