WCVB in Boston has named a new Anchor and they found him in their reporting staff.

Reporter Reid Lamberty, has been promoted to weekend evening anchor for WCVB, beginning the new gig on January 10th.

"I am thrilled and honored to have this opportunity at WCVB and am looking forward to continuing my career at a station that has such deep, committed and successful roots in the community," said Lamberty.

"Reid is an exceptional anchor and reporter who brings great experience and a depth of knowledge gleaned from many years of covering news in New England. He's been a strong asset to our NewsCenter 5 reporting team over this past year and will be a great addition to WCVB's weekend anchor team," said WCVB GM Bill Fine when making the announcement.

"This is a very exciting and dynamic time at WCVB having just expanded our weekend evening newscasts and looking forward to the January 11 launch of the weekday 4:30PM and 7PM newscasts,"said Andrew Vrees, WCVB News Director. "We have an exceptional team, both in front of and behind the cameras, and are very fortunate to be able to make strategic staffing changes, such as promoting Reid to weekend evening anchor, that will further bolster our newscasts and help maintain our leadership position in this competitive market."
