Tomorrow, CBS This Morning will reach a milestone that many thought would never happen.
The show will broadcast is 1,000 episode without the network blowing it up.
For years CBS, which has lagged behind in the morning news ratings, would blow up the morning program and start over. This time you have to give them credit, they finally have stuck with it.
And guess what?
The ratings have started going up.
Yes, they still have a long way to go, but at least they are now headed in the right direction.
CBS This Morning (2nd time it was called that) launched on Jan. 9, 2012. There has been some on air changes and some tweaks, but CBS has stuck with the format for 1,000 shows and it is starting to pay off.
The morning show is now getting the network’s largest overall morning news audience in the time period in 21 years, according to Nielsen.
Proving that sometimes, patience works.
