As FTVLive has been telling, Scott Pelley and the CBS Evening News have been making a slow and steady climb from the ratings basement.
And it appears that CBS This Morning is doing the same.
While the morning show is still well behind GMA and Today, CBS This Morning is finally moving in the right direction.
The show posted its best first quarter delivery with a morning news program since 2009 in viewers and since 2011 in households.
CBS This Morning posted double-digit percentage gains among viewers (2.83m from 2.50m, +13%) and households (2.1/08 from 1.9/07, +11%) according to Nielsen most current ratings in first quarter 2013 compared to first quarter 2012.
In first quarter 2013, CBS cut the deficit with NBC in the morning news timeslot by over one million viewers compared to first quarter 2012.
CBS this Morning is in the network’s closest competitive position in a first quarter vs. NBC in both households and viewers since 1995, and in adults 25-54, the demographic most important to those who advertise in News, since 1994.
