Word is that Today could be a bloody one at WXXA in Albany, NY.
Sources tell FTVLive that more jobs will eliminated as the Fox affiliate is consolidated with ABC station WTEN in the market.
WXXA has already cuts jobs in the past month including that of longtime Anchor Ann Hughes. Word is Today's cuts will be deep and include a number of people.
Not sure what the total body count will be, but FTVLive hears that Morning Weather Anchor Jason Caterina (pictured) is one of the names is on the hit list.
WTEN and WXXA are owned by different companies—Young Broadcasting of Albany Inc. and Shield Media LLC, respectively—but operate under a shared services agreement and a joint sales agreement. Shield Media purchased WXXA in December, paying Newport Television $19.5 million.
