February 28th will be the last night for two legendary Chicago Anchors.
On that day, Bill Kurtis and Walter Jacobson will anchor their final 6PM newscast on WBBM.
The station brought the two anchors to the station in September 2010 in an attempt to generate some ratings for the struggling station. Kurtis and Jacobsen were the main anchors at WBBM back in the heyday (1973-1982).
They never did catch the ratings magic they once had, but they did help bring the numbers up. At the end of the book they will both be history from the anchor desk.
The station will then go to a single anchor team — Rob Johnsonand Kate Sullivan — at 5, 6 and 10pm.
