CBS has hired their next GM at WJZ-TV in Baltimore and they're poaching from Sinclair.
Audra Swain will succeed retiring Jay Newman at the end of September. She's coming from Sinclair's KSNV-TV in Las Vegas.
“Audra comes to us with an impressive track record of success everywhere she has been,” CBS Television Stations President Peter Dunn said. “WJZ is one of the crown jewels of our station group and we look forward to having her come home and provide leadership to our terrific team in Baltimore.”
“I am extremely thankful to Peter and CBS for giving me this amazing opportunity to come back to Baltimore and work with everyone at WJZ who helps the station uphold its legacy status,” Swain said. “The only people who are more excited than me about this move are my parents, who live nearby."
We'll bet Swain is glad to get to a broadcast group that doesn't force stations to run crappy pre-produced editorials in their newscasts.
