Don Lemon Fears for His Safety

CNN Don Lemon thinks that Donald Trump's comments have put his safety in danger. 

“The one thing that makes me nervous in this environment is safety,” he told us at the Point Foundation Honors gala. “I do not think that President Trump realizes that calling journalists the enemy of America impacts our safety . . . That is happening with me now. I have to take certain precautions and certain steps because of threats.”

Trump has told CNN’s Jim Acosta of Lemon’s show, “You just take a look at that show . . . The panel is almost exclusive anti-Trump. And the hatred and venom coming from his mouth. The hatred coming from other people on your network.”

Lemon told us, “I am not scared, but I am not stupid. My mother calls me more often to see if I am OK . . . This is serious stuff, it is not funny at all. It is not on my mind 24/7, but it is in the back of my mind. I did not have to look over my shoulder before. Now I have to take certain steps entering and leaving the building [and] on assignment . . . It is an odd place to be in.”
