Back to the Mile High City

Dominic Garcia worked at KCNC in Denver from 2010 to 2013, before leaving for a job at KFMB in San Diego.

But now, Garcia is headed back to the Mile High City and KCNC. 

Garcia will co-anchor the station’s 5 p.m. newscast with Karen Leigh, and report for the 10 p.m. newscast. He will begin on-air in July.

Garcia is a Denver native that once interned at KCNC in college. 

KCNC News Director Tim Wieland said he knows of no other intern-to-anchor story at the station. “We put a premium on having people work here who have deep connections to Colorado,” he said.
