It seems that monopoly ratings collector Nielsen has not been sending out the overnights to the stations and networks that pay them millions of dollars to do so.
For the last few days, stations have been getting no overnight numbers. It is not usual for the ratings giant to have issues with time changes, but this wasn’t that.
Sources say that Nielsen is telling them that they had a power outage over the weekend sometime and that killed their ability to deliver ratings.
You’d think an outfit like that that gets millions from most stations and networks would be able to afford generator backup.
Nielsen is claiming to stations that they were able to record the ratings – so they weren’t lost – but they were not able to collate and deliver them.
Supposedly, stations should be getting all the numbers for the missing days sometime Today.
