Signing Off in Norfolk

A longtime Norfolk Anchor says that he is leaving the station.

After 20 years, LaSalle Blanks is leaving WVEC and headed home.

Blanks took to Twitter to confirm that his last day would be Feb. 24 and that he was heading home to Connecticut.

According to a statement from WVEC, he will be moving to WTNH in New Haven, Conn.

“I’m excited and humbled,” Blanks said in the statement. “This opportunity gives me the chance to work for the station I grew up watching. I’m going to spread my wings in front of my family, friends, and high school teachers.”
