Done Deal

The rumored merger of the past year, is finally a done deal.

The FCC approved the Nexstar-Media General merger. The merger still must comply with some spin-offs in order to meet local and national ownership rules.

Some of the primary reasons the FCC said the merger benefits the public? Viewer's access to Media General's DC news bureau and the establishment of state new bureaus.

I guess they didn't consider the fact that hundreds of jobs will be lost and competition in many markets will be reduced. Oh, and some great stories about Nexstar CEO Perry Sook in their newscast, too.
